Discover the why of Will Writing with Linda Hall. It’s not just thinking ahead, it’s about protecting loved ones, securing your legacy and achieving peace of mind.
Like many business owners, I believe that having a strong why is the foundation of everything we do. Simon and I are both avid readers, always looking for ways to inspire and motivate ourselves and those around us whether it be our clients or in our business networks. One book that has stood out to us is Start with Why by Simon Sinek. His message is simple yet powerful: people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.
When I first read it, I immediately thought about the why of Will Writing. Many people avoid Estate Planning or see it as a dry, administrative process, just paperwork to get out of the way. But that’s not our approach. Our why is deeply personal, and it’s the reason we go above and beyond for every client we meet.

Our why: bringing peace of mind
For me, Will Writing isn’t about ticking boxes or administrative documents – it’s about peace of mind. The moment someone signs their Will, there’s often a visible sense of relief. They know their family is protected, their wishes are clear and they’ve done something truly meaningful.
One experience that will always stay with me is a gentleman we visited who was in the final stages of his life. His biggest worry wasn’t about himself – it was about the legacy he was leaving behind. He needed urgent changes to his Will and we made sure it was done the same day. Hours after signing it, he passed away. It was bittersweet, but knowing we had given him the peace of mind he needed in those final moments reinforced exactly why we do this.
Every Will we help create represents a person’s life story. It’s not just about who gets what – it’s about values, relationships and love. Whether it’s naming guardians for children, ensuring a family business stays within the right hands, or leaving a heartfelt gift to a charity, a Will is a way to leave a positive impact long after you’re gone.
Helping people face what they’d rather avoid
We understand that no one likes to think about death – it’s why so many people put off making a Will. But avoiding it doesn’t make it any less important. In fact, it makes it more important.
Without a Will, the law decides what happens to your Estate – not you. Families can end up in disputes, financial hardship, or even losing inheritance to the government. That’s why our mission is to make Will Writing approachable and stress-free.
We take the time to explain things without jargon. We meet clients in the comfort of their own homes, so they feel at ease. And we don’t just disappear after the Will is signed – we check in to make sure it stays up to date as life changes.
Every Will we help create represents a person’s life story. It’s not just about who gets what – it’s about values, relationships and love.
The why behind Simon Hall Will Writing Services
Simon and I never set out to become Will Writers – it wasn’t on our career plans. But when Simon started this journey, he realised that it wasn’t just about legal documents, it was about helping people take control of their future.
That’s why we do things differently:
• We make it personal – every Will is tailored to the person, their family and their values;
• We educate, not just instruct – uur role is to help people understand why they need a Will, not just to sell a service; and
• We create lasting relationships – Estate Planning isn’t a one-time event; it’s something that should evolve as life changes.
We also surround ourselves with like-minded people – that’s why we love networking and are a part of BNI, Your Partnerships and Entrepreneurs Circle. Networking isn’t just about referrals; it’s about building relationships, sharing knowledge and supporting each other in business and in life. For those of you who are in business and considering your why, I invite you to come along to one of our Entrepreneurs Circle meetings in Exeter… Also see Entrepreneur’s Edge with Simon Hall.
